I am a retired US Army Special Forces combat diver. Served as a Senior Instructor for the Special Forces Underwater Operations school located in Key West, Florida. In addition to my instructor duties for the Combat Diver Course, Diving Supervisor Course, Diving Medical Technician Course and Waterborne Infiltration Course, I served as the subject matter expert on submarine lock-out/lock-in operations and military rebreathers. Certified over 300 Navy, Marine Corps., Army, Air Force and allied foreign military combat divers.
Initially certified as a YMCA diving instructor (Gold Star) in 1987. Conducted cross-over to NAUI in 1992. As an Instructor, Instructor Trainer and Course Director, I have personally trained and certified over 3,500 divers.
I owned and operated DIVECO dive adventures, a NAUI GOLD training facility on Okinawa, Japan from 1992 through 1996. He also served as a contract diving instructor for the US Air Force's Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) program.
I operated as a military diving instructor and advisor for the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates 1997 through 2001. Received the NAUI Outstanding Service Award in 2001 for promoting both recreational and technical diving in the Emirates. Accepted as an associate into the Academy of Underwater Sciences (2000) for my work on high altitude diving standards and protocols based upon the work of Dr. Bruce Weinke and his Reduced Bubble Gradient Model (RBGM)
Owned and operated Wind River Sports & Dive, a NAUI PRO GOLD training facility in Wyoming, USA from 2002-2004. Was also the founder and president of Wind River Rescue (WRR), and non-profit water rescue agency that serviced and supported the State and Local Law Enforcement in the Rocky Mountain region. WRR conducted numerous body recoveries in high altitude lakes and rivers. Standardized rescue efforts in concert with National Rescue Diving training standards. |
